Pumpkin & Peanut Butter Dog Biscuit Recipe

Natural dog treats have had a huge surge in popularity recently and it’s no wonder! As owners become more aware of the hidden ingredients in the food and treats of popular dog brands, dog owners across the UK are looking for healthier alternatives.

What better way to know exactly what is going into our dogs than by making our own treats?! These simple pumpkin and peanut butter dog biscuits are sure to get tails wagging and are so quick and simple to whip up they’ll be a big hit for owners in a rush too.

For these tasty biscuits you will need:

2.5 cups of wholemeal flour
2 eggs
1/2 a cup of pumpkin puree
2 tablespoons of peanut butter.

We struggled for ages to find tinned pumpkin in the UK but were kindly pointed in the right direction by a follower, our local Sainsbury’s stocks tins of pumpkin that work perfectly for this recipe in their ‘world food’ section alongside other American treats!

We started by preheating our oven to 200°C.

We then whisked together the wet ingredients including the egg, peanut butter and pumpkin before slowly adding in the flour. This will become your dog biscuit dough.

Once combined, roll the dough out onto a flat surface. Then it’s time to  get creative! We chose to use dino cutters for our boys but you could use whatever you like, however it is important to remember that the overall size of your final shapes will impact their overall cooking time. Our dinos took around 45 minutes.

Bake until hard and then allow to cool. Your pups can then get tasting their new treats! Don’t forget to tag us in pictures on Instagram if you decide to give this recipe a go. We’d love to see your pups enjoying your creations!
